This forged sword was made with sword and buckler in mind. It is a very quick sword with both cutting and thrusting potential. The blade was forged from W1 round stock, and was heat-treated in Albion's hot-salt heat-treating unit. The guard was forged from mild steel and the pommel cast from a Jody Samson original carving.   The blade for this piece was created from a piece of W1 round stock, and entirely forged to shape. It was then ground, and heat-treated in Albion's Hot Salt heat-treating equipment. This sword/knife has surprising power behind a cut, but is still very light and agile. The blade distally tapers is two sections, slowly from the hilt to the break in the back, and then more rapidly through the point. This leaves the blade with a great deal of strength and weight in the cutting section, but allows it to have a quick point. The copper plate have been textured on their outward faces, and are polished flush with the walnut grip. The tang for the blade has been peened over the bottom plate to secure the hilt to the blade.
