NEW TANTO COMING SOON!!!!
June 7, 2011
The first of a batch of small projects has be listed on my Japanese for Sale page. Further projects will be listed as time allows me to work on them. Also, I have further discounted the katana blade I had up for sale (current pricing on all projects reflects roughly a 33% discount).

I managed to get some tanto heat-treated this long Easter weekend. I will be working them as far as I am able to with the limited tooling that I have available right now. A couple of them will be finished to a lower grit than is my norm, so they will be offered at a substantial discount.
I will post pics and details as my training schedule and family allows me to work on these projects.

In my continuing partnership, Mike and Brian at Zeist Armory have recently received the entire collection of molds for the Japanese kodogu I was formerly selling. They will be putting these out on the market, as well as new designs of their own. They will soon be available here: http://www.zeistarmories.com/Sword_Fittings/cat145867_114809.aspx
My remaining stock will be transferred to the guys at Zeist shortly.

I have begun working with Mike and Brian at Zeist Armories (http://www.freewebstore.org/ZeistArmories/The_H1_Masamune/storepage145865.aspx). Mike and Brian will be taking over the production of some of my Japanese Kodogu (hilt fittings), previous sword designs, and we will be working on some new designs in both the fantasy and historical realms. Check their website for any new updates.

I've been home for leave over the holidays, and managed to get a couple of things put together. I cleaned up an older katana and posted it for sale, as well as a set of steel hilt castings made by Jody Samson. With his passing over the holiday week, these will become very sought after.

I am leaving for the military this morning and would like to thank all of my customers and fellow craftsmen for their support.
There are still a few pieces available for sale, links for these can be found on my homepage. I still have a number of projects that have not been completed, and I will continue to work on these when I am home on leave.

I have not posted any new updates in quite some time for a couple of reasons. Firstly, I wanted to get the last of my back-orders organized and ready to finish. All outstanding orders currently have parts at the foundry being cast and should be in by the third week of this month if all goes as planned.
Secondly, I am permanently closing my shop to take on a new career path. I have enlisted in the US Army and I leave Mid-August for Fort Bening, Ga.
I may be able to finish a few more Japanese blades before I leave, but nothing new for completed Euro or Fantasy swords. I may attempt to work on small projects during the time I have leave (here and there), and these will be posted on the website as they are available.
After I leave, my wife will be maintaining the website for information and any sales of remaining pieces. All items will be given a specific item code and no further alterations will be available (no polishing, mounting, etc. All items are sold as is).
I want to thank all of my customers for their time and patronage.

Very quick update before I leave for work. It finally looks like this shitty winter is finally nearing it's end. I have completed the mold for the "Adam's Sword" guard, and the pommel was finished previously.
Here is a quick shot of both the original carving (blue) and the first preliminary injection wax (brown).

I will have another major announcement in a few weeks.

Due to rising materials cost I've been forced to increase the price of my habaki by $25 to $250.

Here is one of the next group of my backordered swords that is nearing completion. This is a commissioned viking piece with the more unusual Peterson type "Y" hilt that is being mounted on a Geibig Type 5 blade. The blade was forged in my shop from W1 round bar.

Next, I have a couple of blades for sale. The first one is the Shobu tanto that I mentioned last week.

I've added ASA Swordworks to my links page under "Mounters", and have created a new page for the collaboration that I am doing with them. Info is more or less the same as here on the news page, but it is permanent home for it.
